The sans serif “Messe Univers” typeface is one of our corporate typefaces. It was adapted from the “Univers” typeface specifically to meet Messe Frankfurt’s requirements. All logotypes (corporate brand and event brands) are set in Messe Univers.

In digital applications, the “Roboto” typeface is used instead of “Messe Univers”. The licence-free Roboto typeface may also be used in print media if “Messe Univers” is not available or there is no budget to purchase it.

Noto Sans is available as a sans serif typeface for international alphabets (Asian and Arabic texts). Another serif typeface equivalent to “Messe Univers” is “Noto Serif”.

Use of the “Black” type weight is generally not recommended for all typefaces because of its poor legibility and high space requirement.

Office

For Office applications, the “Arial” typeface is available on all computers. This should be used for preference. This ensures that the applications are displayed uniformly on all computers (sender and recipient).

The “Messe Univers” typeface is not owned exclusively by the company. Licensed use must be purchased at the company’s own expense – both by employees of Messe Frankfurt itself and by agency partners working for us. “Roboto”, “Noto Serif” and “Noto Sans” are licence-free products offered by Google; they are available free of charge. “Arial” is a system typeface found on all computers.
